Do I need a specific synth or external plugin?
MIDI files are notes and performance data, not audio. Load them onto a suitable instrument track in your DAW. You can use a stock instrument or one you already own; matching a demo sound may require different sounds or processing. Use a WAV-capable sampler for the bonus one-shots.
Will it work in my DAW?
You need a DAW that imports standard MIDI files. The sample bonuses are WAV files. The collection is a file library, not a standalone plugin. Check your DAW’s MIDI import and sampler support if you are unsure.
Are all the MIDI files royalty-free?
No. The download separates the original-production library from the REMIXES,MASHUPS (COPYRIGHT) library. The latter is for personal, educational and reference use only, with no commercial release, distribution or monetization.
Which files can I use in original commercial tracks?
Use the original-production library under the included royalty-free licence. You may not resell or redistribute the source files. The remix/reference folder has different restrictions; keep those files out of commercial releases.
How is the collection organized?
First by original-production versus remix/reference use. The original-production side is then grouped into Acoustic, Cinematic/Emotional, Electronic/Club/Dance and Urban/Modern/Beatmaker folders, with packs inside. It is a downloadable folder library, not a search plugin. File labels vary by pack.
Where should I begin if I’m a beginner?
Read the included Quick Start + Use-Case Guide. Choose one original-production style, load a few MIDIs into an instrument, then develop one idea. The included piano and Vortex production lessons provide additional examples; basic DAW navigation is still needed.
Can I change the key, tempo and instrument?
Yes. MIDI lets you edit notes, transpose, change the project tempo and choose the instrument that plays the part. You can also change timing, velocity and arrangement in your DAW. The applicable licence still governs how you may use the result.
What do I download?
This MIDI + Percussion offer provides separate MIDI Collection and Percussion Ultimate Toolkit ZIP downloads, plus an acoustic extras archive. The MIDI collection ZIP contains the original-production and remix/reference MIDI libraries, the 16 core sample-pack bonus folders, the PDF Quick Start guide and four MP4 training videos. A licence and ZIP help document are also provided. Some acoustic extras overlap the core MIDI bonuses; they are not counted as additional unique packs here. A ZIP extraction tool, storage space and suitable music software are required.
Can I sell the MIDI files or share the library?
No. The included licence is for a single user and prohibits redistribution, trading or resale of the source content. Remix/reference files also cannot be commercially released, distributed or monetized.
